No. 4 TCU heads to the Hilltop on Saturday for rivalry dual
FORT WORTH – The Battle for the Iron Skillet hits the hardcourts on Saturday when No. 4 TCU heads to the Hilltop to face SMU at 1 p.m. at the Styslinger / Altec Tennis Complex.
TCU (4-1) and SMU (2-2) have played on a near-annual basis since 1998. The Horned Frogs hold a 37-27 edge in the all-time series between the crosstown rivals. TCU has won 14 consecutive matches vs. the Mustangs dating back to head coach David Roditi's inaugural season at the helm in 2011.
If all goes TCU's way, the Horned Frogs will again drive to Dallas in two weeks' time following Saturday's match. The Styslinger / Altec Tennis Complex is the site of the ITA Indoor National Championships semifinals and final for the second straight season. TCU challenged for the Indoor National title for the fourth consecutive year at the venue in 2025.
The ITA Indoor National Championships run from Feb. 13-17 and are jointly hosted by Baylor and SMU. TCU received its site assignment on Wednesday and will play its first and second round matches in Waco at the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center.
The other teams in TCU's half of the bracket are No. 1 Wake Forest, No. 5 Texas, No. 8 Texas A&M, No. 9 UCF, No. 20 Baylor, No. 21 LSU and UC Santa Barbara. The complete ITA Indoor National Championships draw will be released on Feb. 10.
