TCU travels to Dallas for metroplex match with SMU
FORT WORTH – TCU volleyball (5-3) embarks on its first road trip of the season, a quick journey across I-30 to SMU to face the Mustangs (6-2) on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. inside Moody Coliseum. It will be the 22nd meeting between the two schools, SMU leads the all-time series 13-8. However, TCU has won the previous two matchups, including a four-set victory over SMU last season.

-TCU is coming off a 2-0 weekend in which it ousted Power 5 foes Miami (3-0) and Auburn (3-2).
-Freshman outside hitter Audrey Nalls was named Big 12 Rookie of the Week for her efforts (25 kills, six blocks and 10 digs).
-Nalls leads all Big 12 freshman in kills (106), kills per set (3.66) points (118.5) and points per set (4.09). She is sixth overall in the conference in kills per set and sixth in points per set through eight matches.
-The weekend saw multiple career highs set by some of the veteran members of the team: Sarah Langs set her new career-best against Auburn for blocks in a single match (seven), this came just two days after she set a then-career-best of six blocks against Miami. Sarah Swanson set a career mark in hitting percentage when she put up 10 kills on 11 attacks with no errors (.909 hitting pct.). In that same match, Ashley Waggle set her best hitting percentage, when she collected seven kills on 11 attacks without committing an error (.727 hitting pct.,).
-The Frogs showed marked improvement on the service line against Auburn, going the whole fourth and fifth sets without committing a service error, they only committed one in the final three sets of the match.
-Despite missing the last three matches to injury, Afedo Manyang still leads the Big 12 in aces (14) and aces per set (0.88).
-She is the only Big 12 player to record more than three aces in a three-set match, having done so twice – four vs. High Point and five vs. Colorado St.
-Manyang also leads the conference in blocks per set, averaging a Big 12 best 1.31.
-As a team, TCU leads the Big 12 in aces per set, averaging 1.62 in the 29 sets played this season.
-The Freshman Horned Frogs have provided plenty of evidence to back up their ranking as the fifth best recruiting class in the nation as TCU is led by freshmen in kills (Nalls), total attacks (Nalls), assists (Uçar), aces (Manyang) blocks/set (Manyang) and points (Nalls).
-Four Frogs have scored more than 50.0 points this season, three of which are freshman: Nalls (118.5), Julia Adams (71.0) and Manyang (52.5) The lone veteran among them is sophomore Katie Clark, who is second on the team, accounting for 76.5 points through eight matches.
-The Freshmen have accounted for 230 of TCU's 341 kills (67.4 percent) and 267.0 of the Horned Frogs 453.0 team points (58.9 percent).

-They are coming off a 2-1 weekend in Springfield, Mo. SMU defeated then-receiving votes Dayton is straight sets, along with a 3-0 sweep of hosts Missouri State, before dropping a three-set contest to Weber State.
-This will be the first Power 5 opponent SMU will face this season.
-Hannah Jacobs leads all Mustangs with 5.20 kills per set, second most in the American Athletic Conference.
As a team, SMU leads the AAC in assists/set (13.22) and is second kills/set (13.78) and digs/set (16.67).
