Team Records, Game Notables and Series Information
• TCU is now 11-7 on the season with a 3-4 record in Big 12 Conference play. Texas improves to 17-1 on the season with a 6-1 record in league play following the victory.
• TCU's two game winning streak against the Longhorns in Fort Worth ended with the loss.
• Texas leads the all-time series 36-2.
• The last five games played between the teams in Fort Worth or on a neutral court have been decided by seven points or less.
• TCU is now 1-24 all-time against the Longhorns when they are ranked.
Team Notes
• Despite a notable size advantage in the post for the Longhorns, TCU outrebounded the Longhorns 37-35 in the game and allowed just five second chance points in the game off nine offensive rebounds.
• TCU held Texas to just 42.1 percent shooting in the game, including just 5-of-16 from beyond the three-point line.
• TCU forced 16 turnovers in the game resulting in 15 points for the Horned Frogs.
• This is TCU's sixth game against four different teams in the last two seasons against teams ranked in the top six in the nation in the Associated Press poll.
• TCU is in a stretch of six games that will pit the Frogs against four ranked opponents in #17 Oklahoma on Jan. 6, #6 Baylor on Jan. 9, #6 Texas on Jan. 20 and #25 West Virginia on Jan. 24.
• TCU will have faced six ranked teams by the end of January thanks to two games against ranked foes this week. It is the first time in program history that TCU will have played six ranked teams in a season before the month of January ends.
• With a second game against current ranked teams Oklahoma, Texas, Baylor and West Virginia still on the 2015-16 schedule, the Frogs are in line to face a record number of ranked foes in 2015-16. TCU faced 10 ranked foes during the 2005-06 season. It faced nine ranked foes in 2012-13 and 2013-14. TCU has previously faced seven or more ranked foes in 1994-95, 2005-06, 2010-11, 2012-13 and 2013-14.
• TCU is now 0-5 against ranked teams during the 2015-16 season but the Horned Frogs have now faced three different teams ranked in the top 6 nationally this season.
• TCU falls to 3-2 in the Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena with both losses coming at the hands of a ranked opponent.
Individual Notes
• Senior Zahna Medley finished with 12 points and four rebounds in 35 minutes.
o Medley passed TCU assistant coach and Texas legend Edwina Brown on the all-time Big 12 Conference scoring list with her three-point field goal early in the first quarter that gave Medley her fifth point on the day.
o Medley now needs 10 points to tie Adrianne Ross for 3rd place on the TCU all-time scoring list.
o Medley now needs eight assists to tie Natasha Lacy for 2nd on the TCU all-time assists list.
o Medley reached the 50 three-point field goal mark for the season, marking the fourth season she has reached the mark during her career. She becomes the second player in TCU history to reach the 50 three-point mark in each of her seasons at TCU.
o Medley now needs 16 three-point field goals to tie Jill Sutton for 1st on the TCU all-time three-point field goals list
• Senior Destynee Hives-McCray had eight points and eight rebounds in 22 minutes.
• Sophomore AJ Alix had 12 points and three rebounds.
o Alix scored in double figures for the 11th time this season and for the 13th time this season.
Coaching Notes
• In her second year at TCU, head coach Raegan Pebley is now 29-21 as the leader of the Horned Frogs. She is now 185-196 in 13 seasons as a head coach.
• Pebley is now 1-3 against Texas as the TCU head coach.
• Pebley falls to 2-8 against ranked teams as the TCU head coach.
