
Vaughn named First-Team Academic All-District

FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU middle blocker Anna Vaughn has been selected to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District first team. This is the second time in Vaughn's career that she has been honored as an academic all-district performer. Following her sophomore campaing, Vaughn was selected as second-team all-district.Vaughn now advances to the national ballot where she will compete for Academic All-America honors.
Vaughn leads the Frog in nearly every statistical category. She has tallied 384 kills this season and is hitting at a .344 clip. Her 35 aces are third on a squad that leads the Mountain West and ranks 25th in the nation. She has also tallied 113 blocks on the season for an average of 1.04 per game. Her .344 hitting percentage ranks fifth in the league, while her average of 3.52 kills per game is seventh. She has led the team in kills 19 times this season.
She has been a steady force for the Horned Frogs her entire career and has steadily climbed the Top 10 career charts. She currently ranks fourth all-time with 1,415 kills and fifth, averaging 3.30 kills per game. Her career hitting percentage of .327 is tops all-time. With 134 career aces, she needs just three more to hold the all-time TCU record. Defensively, her 374 career blocks are second all-time.
She was named Mountain West Conference Player of the Week on August 28 following her performance in the TCU Motlen/LaQuinta Invitational.
