Frogs' 11th place finish the best since 2022 at Colonial
FORT WORTH – Sophomore Nathan Miller recorded his second top 10 finish of the season and led the TCU men's golf team to an 11th place finish at the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational Tuesday at Colonial Country Club.
The 16-team tournament featured 14 ranked in the top 23 and nine of the nation's top 12. The Horned Frogs (+25) defeated No. 3 Arizona State, No. 9 Georgia Tech, No. 20 Stanford and No. 21 Pepperdine. It was TCU's best finish at the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational since 2022 when it tied for ninth.
No. 11 Alabama withstood a hot and windy day to win the tournament at even-par over runner-up No. 1 Auburn (+5). Adam Bresnu (-7) of Texas Tech was the individual champion and earns an exemption into the 2027 Charles Schwab Challenge.
Miller tied for ninth place which was the best TCU individual has finished at Colonial since Gustav Frimodt won in 2022. Miller was 1-over 211 after shooting the Frogs' top round of the day, even-par 70.
Sam Udovich tied for 27th place at 4-over 216 following a score of 4-over 74 on Tuesday. Also shooting 74 was junior Charlie Wylie, who tied for 45th place at 9-over 219.
Freshman Cameron Kuchar shot 12-over 222 and finished tied for 57.
In his collegiate debut, freshman Blake Brown tied for 70th and shot 15-over 225.
The Horned Frogs will next compete in the Big 12 Match Play Tournament, held Oct. 12-14 at Salt Lake City Country Club in Utah.
