Frogs in second after two rounds
CINCINNATI, Ohio – In his second collegiate tournament, freshman Cameron Kuchar is tied for the lead after two rounds were played at the Bearcat Invitational on Monday.
Son of the PGA Tour's Matt Kuchar, Cameron carded rounds of 3-under 68 and a career-low 4-under 67 with just one bogey at Coldstream Country Club.
Kuchar is tied with Liberty's Michael Lugiano and Memphis' Yixiang Wang for the lead. There are also nine within three strokes of the lead, including TCU's Sam Udovich at 4-under 138. The sophomore was 1-over 72 in the first round and then had the Frogs' lowest round of the day in the second at 5-under 66. Udovich is tied for eighth place.
Toby Wilt had rounds of 1-under 70 and even-par 71. The senior is 1-under 141 and tied for 26th place.
Charlie Wylie was two shots behind Wilt at 1-over 143. He had rounds of 2-over 73 and 1-under 70.
As a team, TCU is in second place at 11-under 557. Of the 17-team field, none had a better second round score than the Horned Frogs, who were 10-under 274. Liberty (-14) holds the lead by three strokes. Memphis, Louisville and Augusta are tied for third at 6-under.
The tournament concludes with the final round on Tuesday, which begins with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. CT.
