Horned Frogs primed for postseason
ORLANDO, Fla. – With the postseason right around the corner, the No. 3 seed TCU women's tennis team will go up against sixth-seeded Baylor at the Big 12 Tournament on Thursday at 2 p.m. at USTA National Campus.
TCU found its way here by way of a 17-4 regular season record, including a 10-3 conference mark. After finishing third in the end-of-season Big 12 standings, the Frogs have secured their best Big 12 result since the 2016 season when the team finished tied for second and grabbed the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament.
With 10 wins in Big 12 play this season, TCU has earned its most conference wins in a season as a member of the conference by three victories.
The Frogs tied Arizona with the same conference play record, but due to tiebreaker rules TCU will be the No. 3 seed after winning the head-to-head matchup against the Wildcats earlier during the regular season.
Last season in the Big 12 Tournament, the Frogs were able to make it to the second round after defeating Houston in the opening round of the tournament, 4-0.
HISTORY AGAINST THE BEARS
TCU has won two of its last three competitions against Baylor. This will be the second time the two teams have faced off on a neutral site.
Earlier this season, TCU posted a 4-1 win over Baylor at home in Fort Worth. The Frogs were able to secure the doubles point and then grab singles wins from Yu-Chin Tsai, Jennifer Jackson and Cayetana Gay to secure the match.
