Angotsta ties for 17th to pace Horned Frogs vs. elite field
FORT WORTH – TCU hosted the Charles Schwab Women's Collegiate Invitational for the second straight year. In turn, the Horned Frogs turn took on the stiffest challenge college golf offers outside of match play in the NCAA Tournament.
The Frogs concluded play in the 54-hole affair on Tuesday at Colonial Country Club, tying for 12th at 47 strokes over par (847). TCU carded a 16-over 296 in round three.
Kirstin Angosta notched her third straight top-25 finish and fourth of the 2025-26 campaign to headline TCU's individual efforts. She shot a one-under 69 in round three, good for the Frogs' low round of the tournament. Angosta began her round at the 10th tee box. She was one stroke under par at the turn and played even golf on the front nine. The Las Vegas native closed birdie on holes three, 10 and 16, bringing her tournament tally to eight, which were tied for the ninth-most of any competitor.
The tournament was a showcase of the leading contenders for the NCAA team and individual championships with less than two months separating teams from Regionals. Six of the nation's top-10 teams were in attendance while nine cracked the top-25 of the latest Scoreboard rankings. Including TCU's Camille Min-Gaultier, 14 top-50 world amateurs were featured in the individual field.
Top-ranked Stanford and Oregon's Kiara Romero, the world amateur No. 1, lived up to their billings. The Cardinal shot an eight-over 848 to repeat as team champions. Romero ran away with the individual medal, as she finished five-under (205) en route to a five-stroke victory.
Gracie McGovern and Min-Gaultier tied for 46th and 59th, respectively, after shooting a 76 in round three.
Sofia Barroso Sá increased her career birdies tally to 363 across her two days along the Trinity River, putting her 27 shy of becoming TCU's career record holder.
TCU's 26 birdies collectively were the sixth-most of any team.
