Horned Frogs open 2026-27 season in Japan
FORT WORTH – TCU women's golf opens the 2026-27 season with a historic trip to Japan to tee it up in the Pan Pacific University Golf Super League, held from Wednesday-Friday at Grand Fields Country Club.
The cross-continental venture marks the Horned Frogs' first time competing outside North America or the Caribbean.
Now in its third year, the Pan Pacific UGSL is hosted by Nihon University. A total of nine teams comprise the field, including four Japanese and American universities apiece and the National Taiwan Sport University. Joining TCU from the mainland are Florida Gulf Coast, Long Beach State and San Jose State.
Teams will engage in 54 holes of stroke play at the par-71, 6,164-yard course. The TCU men's golf team will play in a men's division that runs concurrently. TCU is the lone American institution with both genders participating.
The individual champion will earn an exemption into the Nobuta Group Masters GC Ladies, an annual LPGA Tour of Japan tournament, in October.
TCU, tabbed No. 27 in the Golfweek preseason rankings, will go with a season-opening lineup of Gracie McGovern, Camille Min-Gaultier, Kirstin Angosta, Ella Forss and Claire Swathwood.
McGovern, Min-Gaultier and Angosta were the Horned Frogs' top three scorers in 2025-26. Min-Gaultier led TCU with a 72.0 season scoring average, 16 par-or-better round sand six top-10 finishes. Angosta earned All-Tournament team honors at the NCAA National Championship after tying for eighth. McGovern gave TCU its lone medal, winning the Schooner Fall Classic at nine-under 201.
Forss and Swathwood are two-of-three newcomers on TCU's eight-player roster. A freshman from Gothenburg, Sweden, Forss signed with the Frogs as the No. 2 ranked Swedish amateur in the class of 2026. Swathwood transferred to TCU for her junior year from Memphis after leading the Tigers in scoring average last season.
TCU is led by Angie Ravaioli-Larkin, who is set to begin her 33rd season at the helm.
Upon returning home, the Horned Frogs enjoy a two-week break before continuing the fall portion of the season with their annual drive to Norman, Oklahoma for the Schooner Fall Classic on Sept. 19-21. The tournament was founded by late country music star Toby Keith and continues to be played in his honor.

The Course
Grand Fields Country Club is a championship 18-hole layout in Mishima, Shizuoka, offering panoramic views of Mount Fuji and Suruga Bay. Profiling as a Japanese garden, rolling fairways and strategic bunkering are woven together with Japanese-garden touches — brooks, terraces and seasonal planting — alongside a modern clubhouse and a driving range. Opened in 1992, the course hosted the 2022 PGA Tour of Japan Championship and has served as the site of various PGA Tour Champions and Japan Senior PGA Championship events.

Head coach Angie-Ravaioli Larkin is set to begin her 33rd season at the helm of TCU women's golf. A lifelong Texan, Ravaioli-Larkin is the longest-tenured head coach across all Big 12 women's sports programs.

Ravaioli-Larkin is a fixture within the TCU community and its athletics department. She has worked with six different athletic directors and coached in five conferences.

Ravaioli-Larkin has led TCU to 21 team titles in her TCU tenure, including five conference championships spanning three conferences. A total of 15 of her players have won individual medals.

Ravaioli-Larkin's teams are known for an exceptional commitment in the classroom. She has mentored 47 WGCA All-American Scholars. Last season, all seven Horned Frogs received Academic All-Big 12 Team recognition, three of whom were cited as WGCA Academic All-Americans.

TCU returns five letter winners ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, a group headlined by two-time All-Big 12 first team honoree Camille Min-Gaultier and fellow upperclassmen Kirstin Angosta, who tied for eighth at the 2026 NCAA National Championship.

Five of the eight Horned Frogs are upperclassmen, giving Ravaioli-Larkin her oldest roster since 2022-23.

Scanning the squad, the Horned Frogs have combined for two medals, 24 top-10's and 43 top-20's over the course of their careers.

The Horned Frogs pride themselves on culture and continuity, and those values are reflected in the team's recent roster construction. No players have transferred out of the program for three straight seasons.

The Horned Frogs have either qualified as a team or sent individuals to the NCAA Tournament in 24 consecutive seasons dating back to 2002.

TCU was the fourth highest-rated Big 12 team in the Golfweek preseason rankings, behind only No. 10 Oklahoma State, No. 17 Iowa State and No. 18 Arizona State, and one of six conference affiliates featured.

Going back in time, TCU won the 1983 NCAA D1 Women's Golf Championship. The tournament was held at the University of Georgia Golf Course and was the second NCAA-sanctioned event to determine a national champion.

The 1983 squad was the first TCU women's sports team to win an NCAA Championship. The triumph is one of eight NCAA team championships in TCU Athletics history and one of five women's titles. Forever commemorating the achievement, the title-winning team was inducted into the TCU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2023 to celebrate the 40-year anniversary of its championship.
