Trio of Frogs place inside the top 10 of season-opening tournament
SHIZUOKA, Japan – TCU brought some hardware home to the mainland following its season opener in southeast Asia.
Bolstered by an even par final round, the Horned Frogs finished as the outright runner-up at the Pan Pacific University Golf Super League tournament, held at Grand Fields Country Club in Mishima, Shizuoka, Japan.
TCU concluded the 54-hole affair 12 strokes over par (864) and 10 shots clear of third-place University of St. Andrews. The Horned Frogs racked up 18 birdies and carded a 288 in round three.
Nihon University, a school in Tokyo and the tournament host, claimed the team title at six-under 846. The 12-team event featured a mix of universities from the United States, Europe, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan.
Three Frogs cracked the top 10 of the final leaderboard while four members of TCU's lineup placed T12 or better.
Camille Min-Gaultier again was TCU's top performer. The 2025 All-American signed for a three-under 68 in the final round and claimed eighth place (+3, 216). Min-Gaultier closed six birdies over her final 18 holes to deliver the Horned Frogs' low round of the tournament. She ascended 11 spots up the
For Min-Gaultier, the strong final round staked her 11th top-10 finish in 25 career starts as a Horned Frog. A junior, she moved into a tie for fourth on TCU's program records list for career sub-70's (16) and now ranks fifth outright for par-or-better rounds (35).
Ella Forss and Gracie McGovern tied for ninth at four strokes over par. Claire Swathwood gave TCU a quartet of golfers in the top-15, as she finished five-over and tied for 12th.
Forss, who made her collegiate debut, played even-par golf over rounds two and three. She posted her second straight 71 to conclude the tournament.
McGovern shot a 72 in round three while the Swathwood was two strokes over (73).
McGovern notched her third career top-10 and second-best collegiate finish. The performance trails only her win at the 2025 Schooner Fall Classic, the sight of TCU's next tournament.
Swathwood, who played two seasons for Memphis from 2024-26, secured her eighth top-20.
Yvette O'Brien tied for 27th at 12-over. She parred the course in round one, delivering TCU's second-best opening scorecard and helping the Horned Frogs separate from the field.
TCU has made a habit of closing out tournaments in style. Friday's round marked the 17th time the Horned Frogs have shot even or under par in a final round since 2023. TCU has now recorded its low round in the final round in two-thirds of its events (23-35) in that span.
Following a nine-day spell overseas, TCU will enjoy a two-week break before embarking on its annual drive to Norman, Oklahoma for the Schooner Fall Classic on Sept. 19-21. The tournament is played at Belmar Golf Club, which was founded by country music star Toby Keith.
