STILLWATER, Okla. – Postseason racing begins for TCU cross country on Saturday, Oct. 31, as the Distance Frogs compete at the 2026 Big 12 Cross Country Championships at the Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course.
TCU will race against some of the nation's top cross country programs on a familiar course after having competed in Stillwater just over a month ago. Saturday's championship features the women's 6K, which is slated to begin at 10 a.m. CT, followed by the men's 8K at 11 a.m. The meet will be streamed live on ESPN+.
The Frogs enter the postseason coming off some of their strongest times of the season at the Arturo Barrios Invitational. Mohamed Kowa led the men's team, finishing 23rd overall with a season-best 8K time of 23:40.0. CJ Meyer followed in 23:57.1, while freshmen Anthony Morales and Armando Morales both turned in season-best performances.
Kowa has been at the front of the pack throughout the 2026 season, leading the Frogs in all four meets. The senior enters the conference championship nearly a minute faster than he was on the championship course at the Cowboy Jamboree, where he paced TCU with a time of 24:44.0.
On the women's side, Georgia Scott led TCU for the first time this season at the Arturo Barrios Invitational, running a career-best 20:30.6 in the 6K. Chachi Gonzales followed closely behind in 20:40.7, while Kate Selover, Josey Whitaker and Jordan White rounded out the scoring five. Scott improved by more than a minute from her previous 6K at the Cowboy Jamboree.
The Horned Frogs will look to build on last year's conference championship results. TCU's men's squad placed ninth at the 2025 Big 12 Championships, led by Johnson Lagat in 37th and Kowa in 44th. Gonzales paced the women's team with a 49th-place finish, as the Frogs placed 13th overall last season.
