WACO, Texas – The TCU women's tennis team defeated the Houston Cougars, 4-0, on Wednesday afternoon in the opening round of the Big 12 Championship.

THE RUNDOWN
The match started in doubles, where No. 24 Jade Otway and Isabel Pascual took a quick 6-1 win on court one. Maya Drozd and Yu-Chin Tsai won for the first time as a pair on court three to secure the doubles point for the Horned Frogs.

The Frogs continued their winning ways in singles, where Isabel Pascual had a dominant 6-0, 6-1 win on court five over the Cougars Sophie Schouten.

Freshman Maya Drozd won in her first ever singles match in the Big 12 Championship with a win on court six to put the Frogs one away.

It was Raquel Caballero who secured the win for TCU. Caballero defeated Iva Sepa on court two with a 6-2, 6-4 win to send the Horned Frogs to the second round of the tournament.
