No. 9 TCU opens Big 12 play at 4 p.m. on Saturday against Wildcats
FORT WORTH – TCU's quest to defend its Big 12 regular season title begins on Saturday, as the ninth-ranked Horned Frogs host Kansas State in their conference-opener at 4 p.m. at Schollmaier Arena.

- TCU will overtake No. 2 Texas for the longest active home winning streak in college basketball at 34 games with a win over the Wildcats.
- Since losing 59-50 at Kansas State on Feb. 5, the Horned Frogs have won 25 of their last 26 ballgames and 10 straight over Big 12 opposition.

- In home games, the quintet's scoring average increases to 69.3 points per night.
- Suarez (18.7 ppg) and Miles (18.1 ppg) are the highest-scoring duo in the Big 12 and one of just two tandems nationwide averaging at least 18 points per game.
- Suarez, Miles and Hunter (14 ppg) are one of only seven teammate trios all averaging at least 14 points per game. At 50.8 points per game combined, they are the nation's fourth-highest scoring trio. Only Western Illinois, Murray State and South Carolina have a higher-scoring trifecta than TCU.
- The TCU threesome has combined to score 50-plus in eight of TCU's 12 wins. All three players have reached double figures in nine games. Suarez, Miles and Hunter teamed up for a season-high 63 points in Tuesday's win.
- Suarez (.443), Maddie Scherr (.420) and Hunter (.414) are all shooting it better than 40 percent from distance and have knocked down at least 20 threes. They make TCU one of only three teams with multiple players shooting it better than 40 percent from distance with at least 25 threes to their names.
- On Tuesday, Miles and Suarez became the first pair of teammates in NCAA history to post a triple-double in the same game vs. a Division I opponent. They are also the first players to record 20-point triple-doubles in the same game at any level of play.
- Miles and Suarez's exploits made TCU the first NBA, WNBA or Division I men's or
- women's team with four triple-doubles in a three-game span since the Los Angeles Lakers from Dec. 28-31, 2021, when LeBron James and Russell Westbrook posted a quartet.

The Horned Frogs and Wildcats were scheduled to do battle on Jan. 20, 2024 at Schollmaier Arena, but the game was cancelled after TCU was forced to forfeit and hold open tryouts due to compounding injuries.
- TCU outscored Kansas State 46-34 in the second half in its 75-62 victory over the Wildcats on Feb. 18, 2023. It was the Horned Frogs' lone conference win of the 2022-23 campaign.
- TCU and Kansas State were ranked ninth and 12th, respectively, in the AP Top 25 in last season's matchup in the Little Apple. At the time, it was the first top-15 conference game in TCU program history.
- The Horned Frogs led 44-43 with seven minutes to go in the fourth quarter of last season's ballgame. Kansas State closed the game with seven unanswered points and held TCU without a field goal over the final 3:58. Serena Sundell scored 23 of her 27 points in the second half to pace the Wildcats.
- TCU associate head coach Xavier Lopez got his start in the industry in Manhattan. He served as a graduate assistant on Deb Patterson's staff from 2013-14 before receiving an opportunity to join Oregon's coaching staff the following season, where he and Campbell first crossed paths.
