
Rifle Wraps Up Strong Weekend in Colorado

Passmore posts career-high aggregate score
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Another strong showing in smallbore helped TCU to a first-place finish at the US Olympic Training Center on Sunday. The Horned Frogs edged out second-place finisher, No. 2 Georgia Southern by three shots 4,741-4,738.
TCU built a sizeable lead in the match, shooting a 2,358 in smallbore. The Frogs followed with a 2,383 score in air rifle. Georgia Southern fired a 2,345 in smallbore and 2,393 in air rifle. No. 3 Alaska shot a 4,718 (2,339 smallbore, 2,379 air rifle) to finish third followed by No. 15 Air Force in fourth with a 4,684 (2,317 smallbore, 2,367 air rifle). Schreiner shot a 2,133 in smallbore and 2,269 in air rifle for a team score of 4,402.
The Frogs boasted five of the top 10 individuals in the match. Katie Zaun turned in her fourth straight first place finish with an aggregate of 1,192. Rylie Passmore put together a career-day, posting a personal-best 1,185 aggregate to finish fifth. Alexandra Rosenlew was sixth with an 1,183 aggregate. Christina Hillinger's season-best 1,181 was seventh and Mikole Hogan was ninth with an identical 1,181. Finishing outside the Top 10 but shooting a career-high was Mackenzie Kring (1,178)
Six Frogs finished with six of the top 10 smallbore marks as TCU posted a team score of 2,358. The mark is tied for the seventh-highest score in program history.
Zaun led all shooters with a score of 593. Passmore fired a career-high 590 and finished third. Fedora fired a 588 to finish fifth and Hogan contributed a 587 to the team score.
Not factoring in the team score were Hillinger, who finished sixth with a 588 and Rosenlew, who rounded out the Top 10 with a 585. For the second day in a row, Kring set a career-high in the discipline with a 583.
TCU posted four of the Top 10 air rifle scores. Zaun tied for the top score, shooting a season-high 599. Kring finished eighth and contributed a 595 while Passmore's 595 was 10th. Hogan's 594 accounted for the Frogs team score.
Rosenlew's career-high 598 was fifth among competitors but did not factor into TCU's team score. Hillinger shot a 594 and Fedora a 586.
TCU will open its home slate of competition on Saturday, Nov.1 when it hosts Nebraska at the TCU Rifle Range.
