
Rifle Turns In Solid Score Saturday

TCU fires third-best score of the season
FORT WORTH – The No. 1 TCU women's rifle team turned in another solid score on Saturday, shooting a team score of 4,738, their third-highest aggregate score of the year.
Nebraska won the dual and both disciplines, shooting a team score of 4,747 (2,360 smallbore; 2,387 air rifle). The Horned Frogs fired their fourth-best smallbore score (2,354) and third-best air rifle mark (2,384) of the season.
TCU had six shooters finish in the top 10 in aggregate score. Katie Zaun led the Frogs and finished third (1,188) followed by Christina Hillinger with a career-high 1,186 in fourth. Alexandra Rosenlew matched her career-high with an 1,186 to finish fifth. Mikole Hogan was sixth with an aggregate of 1,185. Rylie Passmore (1,179) and Marissa Fedora (1,176) finished ninth and 10th, respectively.
In smallbore, Zaun and Rosenlew each fired a 590. It's the fifth time this season Zaun has reached the 590 plateau, while Rosenlew matched her career-high for the third time this season. Hogan contributed a 589 and Passmore a 585 to the team tally. Not factoring in the team score was Christina Hillinger, who fired a season-high 588 to finish eighth among shooters.
In air rifle, six of TCU's shooters finished in the top 10. Zaun finished second with a 598. Rosenlew and Hogan each fired a 596. Mackenzie Kring, Fedora and Passmore each shot a 594.
Hillinger continued her strong day on the range with a season-high 598 in air rifle. Ziva Swick shot a season-best 592 in the discipline. Annie Downum fired a 591 in her season debut. Brooklyn Reames shot a 591 followed by a 590 for Micah Hames. Meredith Stuart tied her career-high with a 588.
Nebraska was led by Emma Rhode topped the field of shooters with an aggregate of 1,190. She paced the field in smallbore (591) and air rifle (599).
The Frogs will hit the road next weekend for a match-up against West Virginia at The X Count Range in Fort Wayne, Ind. TCU will be without two of its top shooters as Katie Zaun and Alexandra Rosenlew will head to Cairo, Egypt for the ISSF World Championships.
