FORT WORTH – Bella Diorio notched her first career brace and TCU rolled to a decisive 3-0 win over Central Michigan on Thursday night at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium.
Diorio earned the fastest goal in the Eric Bell era, as she found the back of the net 54 seconds into the contest for her first goal of the season. Seven Castain swelled TCU's first half advantage to 2-0 behind her team-leading third goal of the 2024 campaign in the 29th minute. Diorio struck again six minutes into the second half en route to the brace,
Oliva Geller earned the cleansheet as she collected one save. CMU (1-2) had just two shots on goal, both of which came in the contest's first 10 minutes.
The Rundown
The Horned Frogs started the contest in a dead sprint, as Diorio found space down the right side of the field as she cut her defender off before delivering a strike to the back of the net.
Pena assisted on Castain's short set piece strike. The senior dribbled down the line and found a diving Castain to put the Frogs up two.
The Frogs tallied 12 of their 20 shots before the break.
In the second half, a shot from Caroline Kelly's inside the box pinballed off the keeper to set up Diorio's second strike. Kelly got the rebound and promptly dumped the ball off to Diorio in the center of the goalie box.
