
TCU Wraps Up Midseason at Art Adamson Invitational

The women finished second behind Texas A&M and the men finished third behind Texas A&M and Utah
COLLEGE STATION – The TCU swim team concluded its midseason meet at the Art Adamson Invitational with the TCU women finishing second and the TCU men finishing third.
The invitational began on Wednesday, Nov. 20 with the 200 freestyle relays, 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free, and 400 medley relays. The first evening of finals saw four school records for the Horned Frogs.
The TCU men's A relay of Peter Horton, Jadon Wuilliez, Nigel Forbes, and Milan Fabian started the night off strong with a school record in the men's 200 free relay, clocking in a time of 1:17.50.
Freshman Karolin Victoria Kotsar added her name to the record book, finishing with a school-record 2:00.25 in the 200 IM. Geremia Freri followed up with a 1:43.89 in the 200 IM, breaking his previous school-record and finishing third.
The men's 50 free saw record-breaking times from Wuilliez and Horton who finished third and fourth, respectively. Wuilliez broke the school record with a 19.55 and Horton secured himself as third in the record book with a best time of 19.77.
Thursday's events were the 200 medley relays, 100 butterfly, 400 IM, 200 free, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke, and 800 free relays. The men's 200 medley relay of Edgar Cicanci, Wuilliez, Forbes, and Horton broke the lone school-record of the night, finishing with a 1:24.82.
Forbes secured a second-place finish and a best time in the 100 fly with a 46.52. Colby Hurt moved into second place on the record list in the 400 IM (4:16.95) and freshman Seanna Muhitch had the sixth best time in school history with a 418.36.
Wuilliez dominated in the 100 breast, finishing first and clocking in the 12th fastest time in the NCAA this season with a 51.84. Rylee Moore finished third in the 100 back with a 54.17 and Forbes finished third in the 100 back with a 47.42.
The final day of the invitational featured the 1650 free, 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly and 400 free relays.
Freshman Kiaha McCool finished second in the 200 back with a 1:57.56 and Nina Vadovicova finished second in the 200 breast with a 2:12.86. Felipe Goncalves secured an NCAA B-Cut in the 200 breast with a 1:54.61.
Freri added another school record to the weekend with a 1:44.58 in the 200 fly, and NCAA B-Cut. The men's 400 free relay finished second overall to round out the meet.

The Horned Frogs will return to action in January as they host back-to-back dual meets against Iowa State (women) and Incarnate Word to start their spring season.
