TCU Earns NCAA Bid; To Host Friday Night

Frogs were tabbed a No. 5 seed in their region
FORT WORTH – TCU earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, marking its eighth appearance in the last nine years in the field of 64. The Horned Frogs, tabbed a No. 5 seed in the tournament, will serve as a first-round host for the fifth time in program history.
TCU will face Stephen F. Austin Friday night at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium. Game time is set for 7 p.m. Tickets are available here.
The Frogs are the No. 5 seed in the Florida State Quadrant. TCU is 16-3-2 on the season and is coming off its seventh appearance in the Big 12 Championship game. TCU went undefeated in league play (9-0-1) to earn the program's third Big 12 regular title. With its postseason appearance, TCU is one of just 16 teams nationally to appear in eight of the last nine NCAA Tournaments.
The Big 12 received seven bids to the tournament. Kansas garnered the Big 12's automatic bid while BYU, Colorado, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and West Virginia earned at-large bids. With a No. 5 seed, TCU earned the highest seeding in the NCAA Tournament among Big 12 schools. BYU and Texas Tech will also serve as first-round hosts.
