
11 School Records Broken at Mizzou Invite

Men’s team wins and women place second
Columbia, Mo. – The TCU Swimming and Diving team concluded an outstanding performance at the Mizzou Invite, held at the Mizzou Aquatic Center on Friday. The men's team emerged triumphant, clinching victory over the three-day event with a total of 1008 points, while the women showcased a remarkable prowess, securing second place with 837 points.
During the thrilling three-day event, athletes shattered 11 school records, set an impressive 40 top-10 records and clinched seven gold medals.
Day One
The finals began with the women's 200 free relay where Olivia Rhodes, Serena Gould, Tania Quaglieri and Mikayla Popham set the first school record of the event. The team finished second with a time of 1:30.49. Quaglieri and Piotr Sadlowski set new school records in the 100 Butterfly for the women (53.10) and men's (46.26) teams, respectively. Popham set her first individual record in the 500 Freestyle with a time of 4:48.50.
Geremia Freri earned his first NCAA B cut of the season and broke his own top placed record in the 200 IM with a time of 1:45.28. Milan Fabian earned a gold medal in the 500 free where he swam to a time of 4:22.24. On the boards, Oliver Cazaly placed first on the 1-meter with a score of 330.85.
The evening wrapped up with the 400 Medley Relay where the TCU women's team made up of Rhodes, Nina Vadovicova, Quaglieri and Jeanne Dahmen, set a new school record (3:36.97) and the men, Raphael Paiva Da, Sadlowski, Jadon Wuilliez and Edgar Cicanci, followed suit with a time of 3:08.86.
Day Two
The second day of the invitational started with another women's relay record being shattered. The 200-yard Medley team made up of Rhodes, Dahmen, Vadovicoca and Quaglieri set the school record with a time of 1:38.09. Following the relay, Vadovicova crushed her own standing record in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:00.45.
Quaglieri won and earned her second top placed time in the 100 backstroke with a 52.61. Freri secured his first gold medal of the invite in the 400 IM with a time of 3:49.85. The swimming events concluded with the 800 Freestyle relays where the women's team placed second (7:15.35) and the men's team made up of Luke Dimiceli, Fabian, Nick Rozenberg and Freri, took first (6:25.83).
On the boards, Cazaly secured his second gold medal of the invite on the 3-meter with a score of 364.05. Anna Kwong placed first with a score of 321.15 on the 1-meter.
Day Three
The Horned Frogs headed into the final day of the invitational with a point to prove. Kara Church and Aaron Wilmes (15:31.01) got the teams started in the 1650 Freestyle race where both of their times placed in the TCU top-10 record book. Church received the silver medal in the race and now stands as the second fastest in the mile with a time of 16:37.71.
Vadovicova was second in the 200 Breaststroke (2:11.86) and Giorgia Vavalle marked her name at sixth in the TCU record book, swimming to a time of 2:14.26. The women's 400 Freestyle relay of Rhodes, Popham, Gould and Quaglieri shattered the school record (3:16.18) to send the women out of the meet on a high note.
The meet concluded on the boards where Kwong finished second on the platform with a score of 234.00. Elliott Dillon set a career high and stayed at fourth best in the TCU record book on the platform with a score of 308.30.

The Frogs are set to take on Texas A&M for Senior Day on January 12 for the women's team and January 13 for the men's team at the TCU rec center.
