FORT WORTH - TCU extended its winning streak to five matches and its unbeaten streak to six with a 1-0 win over Oklahoma State on Sunday at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium. AJ Hennessey's goal in the 17th minute stood up as the game-winner. Lauren Kellett registered the shutout and collected two saves.
The Rundown
TCU took an early lead and rode the tally to the end. Oli Pena intercepted a pass and quickly found AJ Hennessey. She took care of the rest, delivering a world-class strike right past the leaping Oklahoma State goalkeeper with a shot from 20 yards out.
The Frog defense was strong in the first half stopping a number of Oklahoma State attacks. The most dangerous of chances came in the 24th minute when a Cowgirl forward had a clean look inside the 18 but missed just high.
In the second half, the Frog defense remained stout, thwarting a number of Cowgirl chances. Olivia Hasler displayed tremendous hustle in the 63rd minute. She tracked down an Oklahoma State forward, breaking up a rush chance and forcing a corner kick. The Frog defense would limit the Cowgirls to just one corner kick chance in the second half.
In the 82nd minute, the Horned Frog defense again came up big, stopping Oklahoma State's last bid to tie the game. Lauren Memoly challenged a Cowgirl forward on the goal line, forcing her to take an unbalanced shot which was saved by Lauren Kellett.

Quotes of the Game
Head Coach Eric Bell
On the game
"Another hard-fought Sunday match in the heat. I've been waiting for the weather to break and it hasn't, which is making it really, really hard in these 1 p.m. Sunday matches. I'm really proud of our group. We fought and got a really good goal by AJ (Hennessey) and saw the game out to the end."
On AJ Hennessey's goal setting the tone
"I thought we were on the front foot for most of the time leading up to the goal. We had some really good chances and she culminated it with a really good shot from distance."
On limiting OSU's chances
"They were a little bit more direct than they have been in the past. That put pressure on our back line to win balls but more importantly to win the second ball. I thought we did a really good job of doing that."
