Two TCU Divers Break School Records

TCU Competes in Provo, Utah
FORT WORTH — Two Horned Frogs shatter program records on the board at TCU swim and dive's two-day dual meet at BYU at the Richards Building Pool.
David Ekdahl and Anna Kwong stitched their names into TCU lore, with the best performances in program history. In six dives, Ekdahl scored a record breaking 430.20 in the 3-meter. Kwong added to the record breaking day on the 1-meter, with a 324.65 performance topping all-time program scores.
The Frogs fell short of the Cougars in Utah. Although, multiple Frogs took home gold over the two-day span.
Day One:
The first day was highlighted by performances on the women's team in the pool. Senior Emma Hultquist started off strong for the Frogs. In the 200 freestyle, Hultquist swam a 1:51.50 finishing first in the event. Shortly after, the Horned Frogs swarmed the podium in the 200-yard fly. Freshman Alessandra Senis sophomore Rylee Moore and sophomore Jordan Edwards finished first, second and third respectivly.
TCU dive hit five total Zone cuts. Three came from the men's side in the one meter with sophomore Ekdahl (339.60) placing second, graduate senior Max Burman finishing third (322.80) freshman Ollie Cazaly in fourth (317.90) and sophomore Alec Hubbard (297.85). Freshman Leah Fletcher secured her first Zone cut of the season in the 3-meter, with a score of 277.00.
In the men's 400 individual medley, Geremia Freri finished in second with time of 4:03.92, while junior Serena Gould and Olivia Rhodes both finished one and two in the 50 yard fly. Freshman Edgar Cicanci imprssed with 49.89 second place finish in the 100 yard back. To conclude the first day the women's 200 freestyle relay (Rhodes, Gould, Hultquist and Simovicova) swam towards gold with a time of 1:34.31.
Day Two:
The Horned Frogs impressed in day two, totaling four first place finishes. In the men's 500 freestyle Freri and Milan Fabian swam second and third place efforts respectively. Next, in the women's 100-yard freestyle, Hultquist and Gould shared the first place podium tying for first place to the hundredth of a second at 51.59. The 100 fly saw more of the same with Moore Senis amd sophomore Jeanne Dahmen finished roughly a second apart for first second and third place.
The dive team concluded the afternoon with two Zone cuts in the one meter dive with both Kwong (324.65) and freshman Lauren Cey (262.55). Ekdahl (430.20), Burman (404.45), Cazaly (389.90) and Hubbard (367.80) all secured Zone cuts in the three meter finishing an all-time performance from the Frogs.
