
Four Named Academic All-Big 12

Stevie Kennedy, Alastair Gray, Alex Rybakov and Reese Stalder earned Academic honors from the conference office on Tuesday.
FORT WORTH, Texas – Four members of the TCU men's and women's tennis teams were honored by the Big 12 Conference on Wednesday afternoon by being named to the 2019 Academic All-Big 12 First Team.
Junior Alastair Gray and seniors Alex Rybakov and Reese Stalder were honored from the men's team, while sophomore Stevie Kennedy earned the distinction from the women's team. Gray was named to the first team for the second consecutive year, while Rybakov and Stalder earned the distinction for the third straight season.
First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.
To qualify student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
Both the men's and women's tennis teams will await their fate in NCAA Tennis Championships with the team selection show taking place on Monday, April 29, while the singles and doubles selection show will air on Tuesday, April 30.
