
TCU Accepts Bid to Compete in NIVC

FORT WORTH, Texas -- The TCU volleyball team will make its third straight appearance in the postseason as the Horned Frogs have received and accepted a bid to compete in the returning National Invitational Volleyball Championship (NIVC), the organization announced Sunday evening.
TCU (12-16) will face the automatic qualifier from the Mountain West Conference in Wyoming (17-13) on Thursday, Nov. 30 at 4 p.m., at the North Texas Volleyball Center in Denton, Texas. Site host North Texas will also be on hand and will face Oral Roberts on Thursday at 7 p.m., with the winners of both matches facing off in the second round on Friday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m.
The NIVC, which was originally played from 1989-1995, will feature 32 teams (20 automatic qualifiers and 12 at-large selections) from 23 different conferences. Eight participating schools will each host four schools in Rounds 1 and 2 slated for Nov. 28-30. Round 3 will take place Dec. 1-3, Semifinals (Dec. 4-9), and Championship on Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. ET, to be streamed live on ESPN3.
