Horned Frogs Score 4-1 Win

STILLWATER, Okla. - For the second straight season, the No. 35 TCU women's tennis team will be moving on in postseason action as the team defeated Oklahoma, 4-1, in the quarterfinals of the 2016 Big 12 Tennis Championships at the Greenwood Tennis Center on Friday night in Stillwater, Okla.
Forced indoors due to the inclement weather in the Stillwater area, the Horned Frogs (15-5) only played singles against the Sooners (9-14) and won four of the five completed matches in straight sets.
Seda Arantekin got TCU on the board and scored her 14th win this season with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Emma Devine on court two. OU would take its only point of the match by stealing a win on court one, but the Frogs responded with back-to-back wins on courts four and three. Olaya Garrido-Rivas picked up win No. 21 this season with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Simran Sethi, while Caroline Wegner downed Mimi Fotopoulos, 6-1, 7-5. The match clincher would come on court five from Aleksandra Zenovka who recorded her team-best 24th win this season with a 6-4, 6-4 topping of Christiana Brigante.

"I will say that this was maybe the longest day of tennis I have had in quite some time. I am really proud of the girls for sticking it out all day. We were up at 9 a.m., this morning and we just got finished at midnight. I thought we played really well against Oklahoma with all the adversity that we faced today. The lights went out during the match, we didn't start the match until 9:45 p.m., and so many of those things could have been an excuse but the girls are pumped for the conference tournament and came out with a great start which I am proud of."
