The Opponent
Washington comes into Wednesday with a 4-2 overall record after falling to TCU in its last outing, 93-80. Against the Horned Frogs, Markelle Fultz led the way, scoring a game-high 27 points on 8-of-13 shooting, including 10-of-12 from the charity stripe.
On the season, Fultz, a Wooden Award Preseason Top 50 List nominee, is averaging 23.0 points per game, while shooting 55.3 percent from the field. He has also dished out 6.7 assists per contest and grabbed 5.5 rebounds a game.
The Series
TCU and Washington will battle for only the fourth time in program history Wednesday night. The Frogs lead the all-time series at now 2-1 as TCU claimed a 93-80 victory this past Saturday over the Huskies. Jamie Dixon is 3-0 all-time against Washington as a head coach.
We Meet Again
When TCU and Washington take the court Wednesday night, it will mark the second-straight game in which the Horned Frogs and Huskies will play each other. The last time TCU played the same team in two-straight games came in 2010 when the Frogs faced BYU in back-to-back games to end the season.
In 2013, TCU played Tulsa twice during non-conference play, marking the last time the Purple and White have lined up against the same non-conference opponent twice in a single-season.
Building A Bench
Against Washington, TCU out-scored the Huskies off the bench, 48-18. In the last three games alone, the Horned Frogs have outscored the opposition a combined total of 125-39. For the season, the Frogs have outscored the opposition off the bench, 217-90.
It's A Start
By defeating Washington, head coach Jamie Dixon became the first first-year head coach in program history to start his career with a 6-0 record. TCU last started a season 6-0 in 2014-15 when the Horned Frogs went 13-0 in non-conference play. Overall, the 6-0 start marks only the seventh time in program history that a team has opened its season at 6-0.
Robinson Shining Early And Often
Sophomore Alex Robinson had a career-night in the Global Sports Classic championship game against Washington with a season and career-high 24 points on a career-high 7-of-13 shooting from the field, including a career-high 4-of-6 from deep. The sophomore, who was named to the all-tournament team following the conclusion of Saturday night's game, did most of his damage in the second half, recording 16 points in the period when the game was still in doubt.
Rebounding Machine
TCU out-rebounded Washington in its last outing, 36-29, marking the sixth-straight game in which the Horned Frogs have out-rebounded their opponent. In the last two years, TCU is 15-3 overall when out-rebounding its opponent. When broken down even further, head coach Jamie Dixon is now 271-50 overall as a head coach when his team out-boards the opposition. He was 17-4 last season at Pitt.
Grab The Rock
Junior Kenrich Williams posted a career-high 18 rebounds in TCU's 63-59 victory over UNLV. His 18 boards were the most since fellow teammate Karviar Shepherd posted 19 a year ago against Delaware State. His 18 rebounds are the most in a single-game in the Big 12 Conference this season and is tied for the 12th highest in the NCAA this year.
Numbers Tell The Story For Fisher
TCU freshman Jaylen Fisher currently ranks fifth among all freshmen nationally in total assists with 32. He also ranks No. 6 overall among freshmen in the NCAA in assists per game with 5.3.
November Numbers
TCU improved to 44-16 during the month of November since 2008 with its 93-80 win over Washington. Jamie Dixon is now 76-6 during the month of November as a head coach.
