TCU Head Coach Trent Johnson
On today's play compared to the previous three games
"We didn't play as well as we played the previous three games, but that's hard to do. Everybody wants to be playing extremely well, making all of their shots and not turning the ball over, but that's hard to do. Our preparation and their focus were good in practice. For us to not play well and be able to win a game in this league speaks volumes about how much this team has grown and matured."
On the first half of conference play compared to the second half
"I just think we're playing better. We went through a stretch where we played seven teams that were ranked, and we caught them at a tough time. It speaks volumes about how these guys stayed the course because I know a lot of people around the outside were saying 'Here we go again." But these kids were resilient, they stayed the course, they understood why we were getting beat and the things that we could control - rebounding, defending, and shooting the ball with confidence.
TCU Forward Kenrich Williams
On TCU's home game winning streak
"There's nothing like winning. These last four games, we have really come out and played hard. Coach Johnson told us that we can't relax and not to give up."
On starting to win conference games at the end of the season
"I think it's just clicked for everybody. It [Big 12 conference play] is almost over. We knew we had to start winning these games. We want to get in the NCAA tournament, we want to do well in the Big 12 Tournament and we're just fighting to get into the postseason."
Texas Tech Head Coach Tubby Smith
On his team's play
"I thought we came in ready to play, but TCU forced turnovers and we couldn't make a jump shot. When you play against a good team on the road, you have to take care of the basketball. We had a bad night shooting the ball. I thought we made some poor decisions and missed some easy baskets. That always takes the wind out of you. You get a ball at the basket, and it doesn't go in - next thing you know, you start thinking about it."
On Texas Tech's play at the end of the game
"They didn't give up. They didn't quit. It was a chance to really be bad, but it could've been worse. I thought our kids showed a lot of heart to be able to press, try to force some turnovers, get to the basket and get fouled. We were trying to spread the floor. Again, I was impressed with TCU and how they kept their composure when we cut it [their lead] to 12. We were making a good run, and they found a way to curtail it."
