The Frogs came out with energy in the first half of the match as they had the early chances. Kelly Johnson had three solid looks at the net, but couldn't fire off an accurate shot as all three sailed wide of the intended target.
Following a media timeout, Oklahoma took control of the half and put the pressure on the Horned Frog defense. Bobbi Clemmer forced a corner kick after a TCU give away deep in the defensive zone. On the ensuing corner, the ball found its way to the foot of a wide open Abby Hodgen, whose shot went right into the waiting arms of Vittoria Arnold.
TCU regained control of the ball and had another solid look at the goal. Clemmer was fouled setting up an indirect free kick. She made a perfect feed into the goal box, but the ball was headed just over the crossbar by Maddy Courvoisier.
Oklahoma pushed the ball back down field and fired off two more shots that were wide of the target. The Sooners kept the pressure on and were eventually rewarded in the 32nd minute as they cashed in on the first goal of the match. Hodgen fed a long cross into the goal box and right to the head of Emily Bowman, whose shot eluded Arnold's reach.
With TCU pressuring in the second half, Sooner goalkeeper Kelsey Devonshire cleared the ball downfield and right to Renae Cuellar. She beat her defender and was all alone on goal and sent a shot across the goal box and into the lower corner of the goal for a 2-0 lead.
Just 14 minutes later, the lead grew to three as the Sooners got a lucky goal on a crossing shot. Jessica Johnson took the cross, but her feed from 38 yards out drifted over the head of back-up goalkeeper Alicen Wright.
TCU made a late push to try and get back in the match and were rewarded with a goal in the 82nd minute. Brittany Slyman got the ball at the top of the goal box and fired off a shot that was blocked right back to her. She didn't miss the second one as she blasted it past a diving Devonshire for TCU's lone goal of the match.
The Frogs fall to 5-8-2 overall and 0-4-1 in Big 12 play. TCU returns home for its final two home matches of the season beginning Friday night when it hosts Texas Tech. Match time is set for 7 p.m. at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium.
