ALBUQUERQUE - The TCU women's soccer team put the 2011 regular season to rest Friday night, dropping a 7-1 decision to Mountain West foe New Mexico at the Lobos Soccer/Track Complex.
Senior forward Jordan Calhoun highlighted the match, finding the back of the net at the 4:46 mark on an assist from freshman Tori Hale. The score was the seventh of the season and the 36th goal of her TCU career. The goal was the second in as many matches for the Norman, Okla., product after knocking one in against Boise State on Oct. 21.
Calhoun was one of TCU players to land a pair of shots on goal in the game, along with senior Alex Mechalske. Other players to fire an attempt on goal include sophomores Kristen Barg and Ashley Jones and freshman Natalie Werner. The bulk of TCU's offensive pressure came in the second period, registering four shots on goal.
The Horned Frogs will need an Air Force loss Saturday to advance into the 2011 MW Championships, Nov. 3-5.
