FORT WORTH—TCU returns to the court for its first contest in more than a week and its first at home since Dec. 4 on Tuesday, when it plays host to Northwestern State at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. Tip-off between the Horned Frogs and Demons is set for 7 p.m.
TCU looks to return to the win column following a 70-56 setback at Nebraska in its last game on Dec. 11. Playing at home has been a true advantage for the Frogs this season, as the squad is 5-1 and owns a +14.2-point average scoring margin at the DMC.
The contest will mark the final game for TCU before the squad takes a week off from competition during the holiday break. The Frogs return to action at home Dec. 28 against Chicago State.
Northwestern State, currently on a five-game winning streak, enters Tuesday's game at 8-3 on the season. The Demons are 7-0 at home and 1-3 away from Natchitoches, La. Their last road game came at Indiana back on Nov. 26.
The contest marks the fifth game of the all-time series between the Frogs and Demons. TCU has won each previous meeting.
TCU's matchup with NSU will be broadcast live on the radio throughout the Metroplex on 88.7 FM KTCU with Brian Estridge and John Denton serving as the play-by-play team. Live stats and a link to an Internet radio feed will be available via TCU's official athletics website, GoFrogs.com.
FROG QUICK NOTES
- TCU is shooting 50.3% from the field at home this season while outscoring opponents by an average of 14.2 ppg.
- J.R. Cadot is shooting 91.3% (21-of-23) from the field at home and 68.1% overall. He has made each of his last 15 shots at the DMC dating back to the Nov. 27 home win over Houston.
- Garlon Green (66.0%), Amric Fields (52.6%) and Nikola Cerina (50.0%) also are shooting 50.0% or better at home.
- Over the last five games, Sammy Yeager is tied for the team lead in rebounding (5.8 rpg) and is third in scoring (9.8 ppg).
- The Frogs own a +3.8 average rebounding margin (225-202) over their last six games after entering the Nov. 27 win over Houston with a -4.8 average margin.
- Ronnie Moss is only seven assists shy of becoming the 10th player in TCU history with 300 career helpers. He also is only 54 points shy of becoming the 30th Frog with 1,000.
- Hank Thorns leads the MWC and ranks No. 18 nationally in assists (6.1 apg). As of Monday, he was the only player in the MWC this season with a double-figure assist outing. He has totaled 10 helpers three times.
- Thorns also is No. 4 in the MWC in assist/turnover ratio (2.03).
- As a team, TCU leads the MWC in keeping opponents off the offensive glass with a defensive rebounding percentage of 72.2%.
- Of the 14 players who have played this season, nine had never previously seen game action for the Frogs.
- Only six Frog letterwinners return from last season's squad, which is tied for the fewest total in the Mountain West Conference with New Mexico and Utah.
SCOUTING NORTHWESTERN STATE
Northwestern State, led by 12th-year head coach Mike McConathy, has won each of its last five games entering Tuesday, all at home. The Demons are 7-0 in Natchitoches, La., and 1-3 away from home. The Frogs and Demons share no common opponents to date this season.
Ten lettterwinners, including three starters, return from last season's team that went 10-19 overall and finished tied for fourth place in the East Division of the Southland Conference standings.
NSU averages 82.4 ppg and is shooting 45.0% from the field as a team. Senior forward Will Pratt leads the team in scoring (17.5 ppg), while senior guard Devon Baker also averages double figures at 16.3 ppg. Junior center William Mosley ranks as the NCAA's current leader in blocked shots (4.5 bpg) and also paces the Demons in rebounding (7.5 rpg). Sophomore guard Shamir Davis is the team's top assist man (3.5 apg).
INSIDE THE SERIES
TCU owns a 4-0 edge in the all-time series with Northwestern State. The teams met three consecutive seasons in Fort Worth from 1999-2001. The Frogs are 3-0 against the Demons at the DMC.

FORT WORTH (Nov. 16, 2001)—TCU opened the 2000-01 season with a 93-79 victory over Northwestern State at the DMC.
The Frogs, who trailed by a 42-40 score at the half, outscored the Demons 53-37 in the second half. Three TCU players scored in double figures, including Junior Blount, who totaled a game-high 34 points. He drilled 12-of-27 field goals, including 7-of-15 from 3-point range. TCU made 11 treys during the contest.
Marlon Dumont and Corey Santee also both reached double figures with 21 and 16 points, respectively. Dumont chipped in 13 rebounds for a double-double, while Jamal Brown also added 13 boards.
Mike Byars-Dawson led NSU with 28 points. The Demons posted a 50-44 rebounding advantage over the Frogs and pulled down 21 offensive boards.
