
Frogs Down Bobcats, 108-99, in Triple Overtime Thriller

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU men's basketball program outlasted Texas State by a 12-3 count in the third overtime period en route to securing a 108-99 victory on Tuesday evening in Daniel-Meyer Coliseum.
The Horned Frogs overcame a nine-point deficit with 2:00 remaining in the second half after Emmanuel Bidias A' Moute followed up a missed jumper with an easy lay-in to take the score 71-62 in favor of the Bobcats.
Edvinas Ruzgas (Vilnius, Lithuania | Weatherford College) connected on back-to-back three-pointers to cut the lead to three points at 71-68 with 1:05 remaining in the game. The Bobcats were able to take the lead to three points at 75-72 after John Bowman connected on 1-of-2 free throws before Greg Hill (Gary, Indiana | Midland College) sent the game into overtime with a three-pointer with 21 seconds remaining in regulation.
After trading shot-for-shot in the first overtime, the Frogs were able to build their lead to three points at 85-82 following a pair of free throws by freshman Garlon Green (Missouri City, Texas | Hightower H.S.) with 20 seconds remaining in the game. Texas State guard John Rybak connected on a three-pointer with 3.2 seconds remaining to tie the game at 85-85 and send the game into its second overtime period.
In the second overtime period, Rybak conneted on his eighth three-pointer of the game with 38.1 seconds remaining to give Texas State a 96-93 lead. Ronnie Moss (Fort Worth, Texas | Christian Life Academy) found the perfect time to connect on his only three-pointer of the game as the TCU sophomore notched a trey with 5.6 seconds remaining to tie the game at 96-96.
After a Rybak lay-in to cut the deficit to two points at 101-99 in favor of the Frogs with 1:44 remaining in the overtime period, TCU ended the game on a 7-0 run - highlighted by four points by Green.
Ruzgas finished with a team-high 20 points on 8-of-10 shooting, including 4-of-5 from behind the three-point line, and seven rebounds in 49 minutes of action.
Green finished the game with 18 points, including 10-of-14 from the free throw line, to go along with eight rebounds in 29 minutes of action.
Moss collected his first career double-double with 18 points and a career-high 12 assists in a career-high 49 minutes of action. Kevin Butler (Duncanville, Texas | Duncanville H.S.) also posted his first career double-double with a career-high 13 points and 11 rebounds in 42 minutes of action.
Hill finished with 11 points, including a pair of three-pointers, and five rebounds in 31 minutes of court time.
Rybak led all scorers with 30 points on 11-of-22 shooting, including a school record eight three-pointers, while Cameron Johnson and Bowman each finished with 17 points for the Bobcats.
With the victory, the Frogs improved to 4-2 on the season while Texas State fell to 1-5 on the 2009-10 campaign.
The Frogs will return to Daniel-Meyer Coliseum on Saturday as TCU welcomes Louisiana Tech for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off.
