John Porchivina
- Title:
- Assistant Director - Football Strength and Performance
John Porchivina joined TCU in January 2026 and serves as the Assistant Director of Football Strength and Performance.
"Porch" came to Fort Worth following two seasons (2024-25) at Troy where he spent time as the assistant director of strength and performance and as a graduate assistant.
Prior to Troy, Porchivina spent one season (2023) at Ohio State, where he served as an intern with the Buckeyes' football program, including implementing a USG system for daily hydration testing.
A member of the Ole Miss football team from 2021 to 2023, Porchivina remained in Oxford following his playing career as an intern in the strength and conditioning department for the Rebels' football program.
Despite receiving a scholarship out of high school to play football at Cal-Berkley, Porchivina delayed the start of his collegiate career by four years to serve in the United States Marine Corps as a machine gunner. Promoted to the rank of Corporal in 2018, Porchivina had previously been awarded the roles of squad leader and team leader.
He received the "Chesty Puller" Award for graduating No. 1 out of 500 Marines from Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego. The "Chesty Puller" Award is presented to the Marine who has demonstrated the highest potential for future leadership and responsibility in the Marine Corps.
