Defending champion McGovern and TCU return to Norman
FORT WORTH – TCU will again spend the third weekend of September on the great plains of central Oklahoma, as the Horned Frogs are set to play in the Schooner Fall Classic.
Now in its 14th year, the annual stroke play event runs from Saturday-Monday at Belmar Golf Club.
TCU is teeing it up in Norman for the eighth consecutive season. The Schooner Fall Classic was started in 2013 by late country music star Toby Keith. An avid fan of college golf, Keith co-owned Belmar Golf Club and presented the team champion with a signed guitar each year until his death in 2024. The invitational continues in his honor and all tournament proceeds benefit the Toby Keith Foundation, which supports children battling cancer.
In addition to supporting a charitable cause, the Schooner Fall Classic is an early-season litmus test. TCU, tabbed 27th in the Golfweek preseason rankings, is one five top-30 teams competing in the field. Among the programs joining the Horned Frogs up north are No. 10 Oklahoma State, No. 17 Iowa State, No. 21 Florida State, No. 29 UCF, Baylor and Kansas State.
The Horned Frogs' lineup will be Camille Min-Gaultier, Gracie McGovern, Ella Forss, Kirstin Angosta and Henriette Gjelten.
McGovern was the co-medalist at the 2025 Schooner Fall Classic. She shot a nine-under 201. The score stands as the second-lowest 54-hole total in program history.
Min-Gaultier was TCU's top performer in the Frogs' season-opener, the Pan Pacific University Golf Super League tournament, in Japan. She placed seventh outright, good for her 11th career top-10 finish. McGovern and Forss each tied for eighth.
Behind the trio, TCU placed as the outright runner-up in the tournament, which featured a mix of American and international teams.
Angosta has made the lineup all-but-once since 2024. She is playing her team-leading 31st tournament.
Gjelten, a freshman from Lørenskog, Norway, is making her collegiate debut.
TCU has a demonstrated history of success in Norman. The Horned Frogs finished as the runner-up in three of their previous seven visits to Belmar, most recently in 2025. TCU signed for an 11-under 829, setting a program record for low-54 hole score. The second place finish was TCU's best result in the 2025-26 campaign. Former Frog Caitlin Macnab also owns the individual scoring record (-10, 200), set in 2022.

Belmar Golf Club was founded in 2002 and co-owned by Toby Keith and former Oklahoma head football coach Barry Switzer. The course sits in unspoiled farmland and features Bermuda grass fairways and bent grass greens. Designed by Tripp Davis, the short course length, elevation changes and the weaved direction through the surrounding homes presents a unique challenge.

Noting the Horned Frogs
- Head coach Angie-Ravaioli Larkin is in her 33rd season at the helm of TCU women's golf. A lifelong Texan, Ravaioli-Larkin is the longest-tenured head coach across all Big 12 women's sports programs.
- Ravaioli-Larkin is a fixture within the TCU community and its athletics department. She has worked with six different athletic directors and coached in five conferences.
- Ravaioli-Larkin has led TCU to 21 team titles in her TCU tenure, including five conference championships spanning three conferences. A total of 15 of her players have won individual medals.
- Ravaioli-Larkin's teams are known for an exceptional commitment in the classroom. She has mentored 47 WGCA All-American Scholars. Last season, all seven Horned Frogs received Academic All-Big 12 Team recognition, three of whom were cited as WGCA Academic All-Americans.
- There may not be a more accomplished coaching staff in college women's golf than TCU's trio of Ravaioli-Larkin, Greg Robertson and Angela Stanford. On Monday, TCU announced the addition of Stanford, the 2026 U.S. Solheim Cup captain, as an assistant coach. Stanford, the most accomplished player in program history, teed it up in an LPGA Tour record 98 consecutive majors from 2002-04. In June, Ravaioli-Larkin brought in Robertson as the program's associate head coach. Robertson, a 13-time conference champion coach, remains one of only three head coaches in college women's golf history to reach match play in multiple seasons with two different schools.
- TCU returned five letter winners from the 2025-26 campaign, a group headlined by two-time All-Big 12 first team honoree Camille Min-Gaultier and fellow upperclassmen Kirstin Angosta, who tied for eighth at the 2026 NCAA National Championship.
- Five of the eight Horned Frogs are upperclassmen, giving Ravaioli-Larkin her oldest roster since 2022-23.
- Scanning the squad, the Horned Frogs have combined for two medals, 27 top-10's and 47 top-20's over the course of their careers.
- The Horned Frogs pride themselves on culture and continuity, and those values are reflected in the team's recent roster construction. No players have transferred out of the program for three straight seasons.
- The Horned Frogs have either qualified as a team or sent individuals to the NCAA Tournament in 24 consecutive seasons dating back to 2002.

- Going back in time, TCU won the 1983 NCAA D1 Women's Golf Championship. The tournament was held at the University of Georgia Golf Course and was the second NCAA-sanctioned event to determine a national champion.
- The 1983 squad was the first TCU women's sports team to win an NCAA Championship. The triumph is one of eight NCAA team championships in TCU Athletics history and one of five women's titles. Forever commemorating the achievement, the title-winning team was inducted into the TCU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2023 to celebrate the 40-year anniversary of its championship.
