SAN MARCOS, Texas – For 18 holes, TCU put it all together and will have a shot at a championship to close out the fall portion of the season.
The Horned Frogs opened up a three-stroke lead at the Jim West Challenge after firing a 13-under 275 in round two on Sunday at Kissing Tree Golf Club.
The score ranks fourth in program history for low round vs. par.
TCU finished 11 strokes under par on the back nine and lowered its 36-hole total to 11-under 565. The Frogs bagged a tournament-best 27 birdies in round two. Of the birdies, 10 came on holes 16-18, giving TCU sole possession of the top spot on the leaderboard.
The Horned Frogs vaulted past first round leader Missouri and will start Tuesday's final round four shots in front of North Texas and 11 clear of fourth place Notre Dame.
Kirstin Angosta notched a seven-under 65 to move into a tie for second at five strokes under par (139). Angosta, the 2024 Jim West Challenge champion, was bogey-free in round two and registered just two over the course of the two round marathon. She punctuated her second lap around Kissing Tree with three straight birdies.
Ella Forss, Gracie McGovern and Camille Min-Gaultier all signed for 70's (-2) to supercharge TCU's ascent into contention. The Horned Frogs sat in fourth place through 18 holes at two strokes over par.
Forss finished two-under in both rounds and is tied for fifth (-4, 140).
McGovern and Claire Swathwood each hold a share of 17th place at one stroke over par. Swathwood gave TCU two scores in the red in round one. The junior transfer carded a one-over 71.
Min-Gaultier is tied for 24th and one shot off McGovern and Swathwood.

From nearby Coppell, Texas, Angosta has shot par or better in eight-of-10 rounds thus far in her senior season.
Forss is in prime position to notch her team-leading third top-10 of the 2026-27 campaign. Including the Jim West Challenge, the freshman has been TCU's top opening round performer in three events. She registered just one bogey in round two.
McGovern and Min-Gaultier both signed for a three-under 33 on the back nine in the second 18. McGovern matched Angosta with three straight bogeys on her final three holes.
Swathwood birdied or parred all-but-one hole in the first round. She and Forss gave TCU a pulse in the early going. Both players made the turn at one stroke under par.
TCU registered 37 birdies, second only to tournament host Texas State.
The Horned Frogs are aiming to win the Jim West Challenge for the third time. TCU first claimed the crown in 2018 and most recently triumphed in 2024. With a team title, TCU will become the first three-time event champion in the 15-year history of the event.
