
Frogs Finish Sixth at NCAA Regional

Two freshmen lead the way for TCU
BRYAN, Texas – TCU finished its season with a sixth-place finish at the NCAA Bryan Regional on Tuesday at Traditions Club.
With projected weather concerns for Wednesday, the 14-team field played the final two rounds on Tuesday. In the second round, the Horned Frogs did their best on the back nine, going 6-under par collectively and go 7-under overall for the round. There was only one mark on the back nine that wasn't a par or birdie.
In third place after two rounds, the Frogs were in position to finish in the top five and advance to the NCAA Championship. However, TCU shot 2-over 290 in the third round with a collective 3-over par on the back nine. No. 16 Tennessee shot 10-under 278 in the third round to grab fifth place at 18-under overall, five better than TCU's 13-under.
Sam Udovich led the Frogs with a tie for 17th place at 4-under 212. It was his team-leading sixth top 20 finish of the season for the freshman. Udovich had rounds of 3-under 69 and 1-under 71 on Tuesday.
Another freshman, Nathan Miller, had the second-best finish for TCU at 2-under 214 and in a tie for 26th place. He shot 2-under 70 in the second round but finished with a third-round score of 4-over 76.
Sophomore Charlie Wylie shot 1-under 215 and finished in a tie for 31st place. He had rounds of even-par 72 and 1-over 73.
In his final tournament for TCU, recent graduate Lewis Wright tied for 34th place at even-par 216. He shot 1-under 71 in the second round, but then 3-over 75 in the final round.
Senior Jack Beauchamp had his best two rounds of the tournament on Tuesday with two scores of 1-under 71. He had nothing but pars and birdies on the back nine going 7-under over the two rounds.
Joining Tennessee in advancing to the NCAA Championship was No. 4 Texas (-45), No. 27 and host school Texas A&M (-40), Chattanooga (-23) and North Carolina (-19).
