Horned Frogs to host NCAA qualifier from Thursday-Monday
FORT WORTH – Fans eager for their first glimpse of the 2026-27 TCU men's tennis team need not wait any longer.
TCU and the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center are set to host the Teddy Wong's ITA Texas Regional from Thursday-Monday.
More than 100 players spanning 15 Division I programs across the Lone Star State will converge on Cowtown for the annual affair. In addition to showcasing the top Texas tennis talent, the event is a qualifier for the NCAA Individual Championships, which take place in November. From the ITA Texas Regional, the singles finalists and doubles champions advance to Nationals.
Matches will run continuously all five days. Admission is free for all fans.
Seven Horned Frogs are competing on their home court in at least one discipline. TCU will be represented by Oliver Bonding, Matthieu Chambonniere, Maximus Dussault, Albert Pedrico, Roger Pascual, Kaj Quirijns and Cooper Woestendick.
All TCU players made the main draw and begin play on Friday.
Four of TCU's singles entrants are nationally ranked as is the doubles tandem of Pedrico and Woestendick, who were awarded the No. 1 seed in the doubles bracket. Bonding, Pedrico and Woestendick all garnered seeded positioning in the 64-man singles main draw.
Bonding enters his season debut red hot on the professional circuit. The reigning Big 12 Freshman of the Year, Bonding rattled off a run of nine straight victories spanning a pair of ITF futures events in September and October. He won the M15 Columbia on Sept. 27 and finished as the runner-up the following week at the M15 Ann Arbor. Bonding is exclusively playing singles.
Woestendick is TCU's highest-ranked player competing in either discipline. He received the preseason ITA No. 21 ranking in singles and teamed up with Pedrico to earn the No. 6 billing in doubles. Woestendick is 8-2 overall and 4-2 vs. ranked players. He won the Milwaukee Tennis Classic in his season debut in September.
Pedrico enjoyed a semifinal run from Oct. 1-3 at the Battle in the Bay Classic. He and Woestendick are 13-4 across their year-plus as partners. Pedrico was one of three TCU qualifiers for the NCAA Individual Championships in 2025.
Chambonniere and Dussault are joining forces in doubles for the fourth time in as many events this fall. The duo has teamed up to the tune of a 9-2 record and Battle in the Bay Classic doubles championship.
Dussault checked in at No. 111 in the inaugural ITA singles rankings. The left-hander started his sophomore season with a run to the finals at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic.
Chambonniere leads TCU with 17 overall victories. His eight wins in singles are tied with Woestendick for the most of any Horned Frog. The junior transfer owns a pair of ITA top-75 singles wins.
Quirijns will play both disciplines and form an all-lefty partnership with Pascual in doubles. Quirijns, one of two TCU seniors, reached the Battle in the Bay Classic singles quarterfinals – his best career finish in any tournament – in his season debut.
Pascual is only playing doubles. He qualified for the NCAA Singles Championships via his title-winning performance in September at the ITA All-American Championships. The junior became TCU's first national champion in singles.
