Pascual Takes ITA All-American Championships Title

First TCU player to win national championship event
TULSA, Okla. – Serving for a program that has produced 35 All-Americans and six national championships, Roger Pascual stands alone.
Pascual became the first Horned Frog to win the ITA All-American Championships title on Sunday. He defeated sixth-ranked and No. 2 seed Keegan Rice of Virginia, 6-3, 6-1, in the championship match at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
A 5-7 lefty, Pascual joins Ben Shelton, John Isner, Ethan Quinn and Eliot Spizzirri among an illustrious list of champions who have captured one of the most coveted prizes in college tennis.
Pascual is the first TCU player to win a national championship in singles.
He is also the seventh Frog to secure a national title in either discipline. Pascual's performance gives TCU its first national title since Lui Maxted and Pedro Vives' triumph at the 2025 NCAA Doubles Championships.
Pascual joins his head coach, David Roditi, and Paul Robinson as one of three players in program history to claim the crown at the ITA All-American Championships. Roditi and Robinson obtained the doubles champi onship in 1994.
A native of Vinaros, Spain, Pascual did not surrender a single set across his march to the throne. He attained All-American status for the 2026-27 campaign. Pascual also earned an automatic berth into the 2026 NCAA Singles Championships, which run from Nov. 17-22 in Athens, Georgia.
Pascual defeated three preseason ITA top-25 players. He bounced No. 8 Theo Papamalamis of Texas A&M, 6-3, 6-1, in the quarterfinals. Preceding the clash was a second round tilt vs. No. 22 Emon Van Loben Sels. He bounced the UCLA Bruin 7-5, 6-1 to get within a victory of NCAA qualification.
The rising junior left little to chance. Pascual hung a pair of 6-2 frames vs. Arizona's 37th-ranked Sasha Rozin on Friday in the round of 16 to book his ticket to NCAA's.
Pascual ground down No. 30 Nicolas Arsenault of Kentucky to the tune of a 6-4, 7-5 semifinal victory.
He bettered Virginia's Luca Preda, the preseason ITA No. 1 newcomer, 6-2, 7-6 in Wednesday's opening round.
No. 21 Cooper Woestendick pocketed a trio of main draw wins, bettering No. 33 Jangjun Kim (Virginia), No. 35 Petro Kuzmenok (Rice) and No, 40 Nathan Trouve (USC).
Behind Pascual, one of four players to earn a main draw wild card, TCU competed to a 17-7 combined overall record at the tournament.
TCU will next travel a select group of athletes west for the Battle in the Bay Classic on Wednesday-Sunday at the California Tennis Club in San Francisco.
