
Triathlon Set to Host Battle in the Fort

FORT WORTH – The No. 1 ranked TCU triathlon team will host seven teams this Sunday, Sept. 29 at the second annual Battle in the Fort race. The mid-season race will take place at the Marine Creek Reservoir, beginning at 9 a.m. CT.
The race is an NCAA Draft-Legal Sprint distance race: 750 meter swim, 12.4 mile bike, 3.1 mile run. Jenna Buchanan leads the Horned Frogs in the event this season with a team-best time of 1:03.19, earning her a runner-up finish at the Duquesne Invitational.
Six of the seven participating teams are ranked in the top 20 of the CTCA poll with reigning national champions, Arizona State, in the mix as well.

ABOUT THE FROGS
TCU debuted at the top in the first CTCA poll of the season following two consecutive wins at the Southern Hills Triathlon and the Duquesne Invitational. The Frogs also saw six athletes within the top-20 of the individual rankings, led by Duquesne Invitational runner-up, Buchanan who is ninth.
Amanda Moro is 11th overall after finishing third on the podium last weekend. Sara Gimena, Ani Veltcheva, and Hannah Ye are ranked 13th, 14th, and 15th, respectively. Gimena was fourth at Duquesne with Ye following in fifth. Veltcheva recently placed seventh at the Southern Hills Collegiate Cup. Rounding out the top-20 is Kira Gupta-Baltazar who competed in the Southern Hills Collegiate Cup and finished ninth.
