
TCU outlasted by Texas A&M

TCU tallies six gold, six silver and eight bronze medals
FORT WORTH – The TCU men's swimming and diving team fell to Texas A&M University, 175-125, Saturday afternoon at the University Rec Center.
Jadon Wuilliez and Kito Camossato earn NCAA B cuts in the pool while Oliver Cazaly earns a zone cut on the 3-meter springboard.
IN THE POOL
The meet began with a TCU sweep in the 200 medley relay. Current school record holding team of Edgar Cicanci, Wuilliez, Piotr Sadlowski and Raphael Paiva Da Lima earned the first gold medal of the day with a time of 1:27.73.
Luke DiMiceli swam to his first win of the season in the 200 freestyle touching the wall at 1:37.80. Milan Fabian finished behind him at 1:38.46.
Current 100 breaststroke record holder, Wuilliez, earned an NCAA B cut and his second win in the event of the season with a time of 53.31. Camossato was second to the junior with a time of 54.22.
Geremia Freri secured the third TCU gold medal of the day in the 200 butterfly. The junior posted his first win in the event this season with a time of 1:47.36.
Paiva Da showed out on senior day winning the 50 freestyle for the first time this season. The Brazillian currently holds the school record in the event (19.72) and touched the wall at 20.78 against the Aggies.
Camossato was the fourth Frog of the day to earn a gold medal when he touched the wall first in the 200 breaststroke. The freshman earned an NCAA B cut and his first win in the event this season with a time of 1:55.88.
ON THE BOARDS
Oliver Cazaly earned an NCAA zone cut on the 3-meter springboard with a score of 321.30.
Alec Hubbard and Landon McMonagle both earned season high scores on the 1-meter. Hubbard finished fifth with a score of 294.85. Senior, McMonagle wrapped up the event with a 230.00.
UP NEXT
The women's team heads to Ames, Iowa to take on the Iowa State Cyclones on Jan. 20 before the men and women's teams head to Austin, Texas for the Sterkel Classic Feb. 2-3.
