Dillon Sets School Record, Frogs Wrap up USC Invite

Sophomore breaks program-best mark in mile
LOS ANGELES – Sophomore Avery Dillon set a new program-best time in the 1650 free as TCU conceded the USC Invite at Uytengsu Aquatics Center.

On top of Dillon's record-setting performance, two other top-10 times were set throughout the course of the meet. Mikaela Goelst posted the seventh-fastest time in the 100 breast (1:02.31), while the quartet of Molly Cullen, Kirke Madar Josephine Brant and Hannah Wahcndorfer snagged the ninth-best effort in the 200 free relay with a 1:31.66.

DAY ONE RUNDOWN
The individual events on day one got started with a bang, as Dillon started out the competition strong with a win in the 500 free (4:45.25).

TCU would earn its next top-three finish in the men's 100 back, as Filip Suchanski would clock a 48.58 to come in third.

The women's 50 free saw Cullen earn her first top-three result of the meet, touching the wall in 23.01 to claim third. To close out day one in the same event, Thomas Bradac (20.38) and Nigel Forbes (20.61) finished second and third for the Horned Frogs.

DAY TWO RUNDOWN
The second day of competition earned a top-10 result from the jump, as the women's 200 free relay quartet came in second in the event and earned their top-10 mark with the 1:31.66 finish. The men's relay of Bradac, Forbes, Charlie Bishop and Steve Grud came in second with a 1:17.88.

In the 400 IM, Suchanski touched the wall in 3:56.10 for third in the event. Grant Chapa secured third in the 100 fly with a 48.43 effort.

Dillon earned yet another top-three finish, this time in the 200 free with a 1:48.94.

Nina Vadovicova would win the 100 breast, notching a time of 1:01.01. Goelst came in third in the event with a 1:02.31, securing the second top-10 time of the meet.

In the afternoon portion, the women's and men's relay squads would each earn second-place results in the 200 medley relay.

In the next event, Dillon would set the school record in the 1650 free, claiming first in the event as well. Deacon Gutshall swam a 15:21.80 to secure the event sweep for the Frogs.

Audrey Worgull would join in on the top-three finishes, this time in the 200 back with a 1:59.79 to come in third. Suchanski (1:46.88) and Denys Mialkovskyi (1:50.26) would claim second and third in the 200 back.

Cullen continued her success in sprint freestyle events, touching the wall in 50.96 for third in the 100 free.

Vadovicova (2:11.54) finished second in the 200 breast. Yochanan Meza would close out the individual portion of the meet with a 1:48.34 for third in the 200 fly.
