Rodriguez tosses career-high six innings

FORT WORTH – TCU's ninth inning rally came up short as Texas scored three unanswered runs to hand the Horned Frogs a 3-2 loss Sunday afternoon. Louis Rodriguez tossed a career-high six innings in making his second career start.

The Rundown
Karson Bowen opened the ninth with a base hit and was on third with one out following a Kurtis Byrne single. Bowen attempted to score on a shallow fly ball to left but was thrown out at home to end the game.

TCU took a 2-0 lead through the first two innings of play. Elijah Nunez led off the first with a base hit and scored easily on a double from Tre Richardson to give TCU a 1-0 lead.

The Frogs added to their lead in the second. Logan Maxwell walked with one out and scored on a two out triple from Nunez.

Texas tied the game in the third, scoring two runs on two hits. A hit batter with one out came around to score on a double. A sacrifice fly tied the game at two.

The game stayed tied until a lead-off walk in the eighth proved costly. The go-ahead run scored on a one-out single.

Louis Rodriguez was solid in the no-decision. He allowed two runs on four hits, walked one and struck out four. Luke Savage (1-3) took the loss after allowing a run on a hit and one walk in two innings of work. Garrett Wright worked a scoreless ninth.
