Horned Frogs Open Season in Austin
FORT WORTH – TCU head coach James Winchester announced the 2022-23 swimming & diving schedule. The Horned Frogs are slated for two home meets with postseason competition beginning Feb. 22.
The Frogs kick off the season at the Dust Your Boots Off Invitational, hosted by Texas on Oct. 7. The following weekend, TCU heads to Provo, Utah, for a dual meet against BYU Oct. 13-14.
Texas A&M comes to the University Recreation Center for TCU's first home meet of the season on Nov. 4. Reversing roles, the swimming teams will head to Texas A&M for the midseason Art Adamson Invitational (Nov. 16-18). On the boards, TCU will compete at the SMU Invite from Nov. 17-19.
The Horned Frogs will kick off 2023 in Honolulu, HI to take on the Rainbow Warriors as well as the women from Air Force (Jan. 6). The diving team will travel from Hawaii to California for the Bruin Diving Invite, hosted by UCLA (Jan. 12-15). TCU will swim once more at Hawaii in a dual meet (Jan. 6). In the final regular season meet of the season, TCU will host Iowa State (women only) and Missouri State (men only) as the Frogs celebrate Senior Day on Jan. 28. On Feb. 4 the Horned Frogs will have one final tune up before championship season in Dallas, Texas at the Pre-Conference time trials.
Championship season begins Feb. 22 as the Frogs take part in the four-day Big 12 Championships in Austin, Texas. Following Big 12s, TCU's short ranged swimmers will head back to Austin, Texas for the American Short Course Competition (March 2-4). Then, the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships will take place March 7-9 in Minneapolis.
The National Invitational Championships (March 9-11) are set to return to Elkhart, Ind. The Women's NCAA Championships will be hosted by Tennessee March 15-18 and the Men's NCAA Championships run from March 22-25 in Minneapolis.
TCU is coming off one of the best seasons in program history. David Ekdahl, Alec Hubbard and Janis Silins all qualified for the Men's NCAA Championships, the first time the Frogs have been represented on the national stage since 2014.
In addition to their three NCAA Qualifiers, the men's team finished second overall at the Big 12 Championships. Collectively, TCU saw 12 Frogs earn NCAA B cuts in their respective events, and six divers qualified for the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships.
