
Duo Earn All-Big 12 Honors

FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU women's tennis student-athletes Aleksa Cveticanin and Marie Norris were honored by the Big 12 Conference by being named to the All-Big 12 teams as announced by the league office on Thursday.
The honors mark the first in the careers for Cveticanin and Norris as the pair were each named to the All-Big 12 Singles Second Team. Cveticanin also became the first Horned Frog to earn a spot on the All-Big 12 Freshman Team.
Cveticanin played at the top of the lineup in singles for TCU as a freshman and finished with 15 wins in her inaugural season. The Brisbane, Australia native got 11 of her victories in dual matches with nine wins at the No. 1 spot and one win over a ranked opponent. Cveticanin ended the season on a four-match winning streak while also getting four victories during Big 12 play. Cveticanin was ranked the majority of the season in the Oracle/ITA singles poll and climbed to as high as No. 71.
Norris was a consistent competitor for TCU in singles action this season and led the team with a 21-7 mark. The junior scored 15 wins in dual matches and five wins against league opponents. The Burdett, Kan., native scored victories in seven of her last nine matches and was able to upset one ranked foe. Norris started the season ranked No. 80 in the Oracle/ITA singles poll and was ranked for six straight weeks in the spring.
TCU concluded its season by advancing to the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Championship two weeks ago. The Frogs finished the year with 13 victories and wins in four of its last five matches played.
