FORT WORTH, Texas - The home season finale ended in heartbreaking fashion for the TCU women's tennis team as they dropped a 4-3 decision to No. 21 Baylor on Sunday afternoon at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center in Fort Worth.
The Horned Frogs (9-11, 0-5 Big 12) were able to snag the doubles point against the Bears (12-11, 2-4 Big 12) with the senior pair of Donika Bashota and Alexis Pereira scoring an upset of the No. 70 pair Kris Sorokolet and Jessica Hinojosa on court one, 6-2. Marie Norris and Elizabeth Tedford clinched the point and early lead for TCU with a 6-4 victory on court three.
TCU quickly went up 2-0 in the match as Aleksa Cveticanin dominated court one with a 6-0, 6-3 victory. Baylor did not back down and evened up the match with wins on courts five and two and then took its first lead of the match with a straight-set win on court six. Norris battled hard and came out on top, 7-5, 6-1 on court four to tie up the match at 3-3, but the Bears' lead on court three proved to be too much to overcome as they took that match and the overall team victory.
