TULSA, Okla. -- Junior Stefano Mazzoli's even-par round helped the TCU men's golf team move up two spots, to sixth place, in the third round of the Big 12 Championship.
Mazzoli birdied four of the first six holes and finished 3-under par after the first nine. He was two under until a double bogey on the final hole, No. 9, which dropped him to even-par 70 on the day. Mazzoli is tied for 11th place at 5-over 215 and is five back of the leaders, Doug Ghim (E) of Texas and Grant Hirschman (E) of Oklahoma.
Perfect playing conditions of sunshine, 80 degrees and very little wind, were no match for the challenging course at Southern Hills Country Club. Only three individuals shot under par on the day.
Junior Turner MacLean also shot well in TCU's first nine, which was the back nine. He was even par and then shot 2-over on the second nine to finish 2-over 72 and end the day in 20th place.
Junior David Ravetto moved up two places from Monday after shooting 2-over 72. He is tied for 27th place at 9-over 219.
Junior Pierre Mazier shot 3-over 73 on Tuesday. He also moved up two places and is tied for 39th at 13-over 223.
The Horned Frogs collectively shot their best round of the tournament, 6-over 286 and are 34-over for the tournament. They passed Tuesday's playing partner, Kansas (+39), and No. 12 Texas Tech (+38) in the team standings.

The Bears and the Horned Frogs will tee off together Wednesday morning at 8 a.m. on hole No. 1.
