TCU Defeats Ouachita Baptist On Senior Day

FORT WORTH, Texas – TCU swimming and diving sent its senior class out with a win in the final home meet of the season on Saturday, defeating Ouachita Baptist's women's team 224-56 and its men's team 158-102. TCU's women's squad also competed against North Texas but fell in a tight battle 149.5-142.5.
ON THE BOARDS
TCU's diving squad continued its strong season, led once again by Isabella Ashdown. Ashdown won both the one-meter and three-meter dives with scores of 293.92 and 295.05 respectively, both of which meet NCAA Zone standards. Connie Deighton had her best three-meter performance of the season, producing a NCAA Zone cut of 281.32. Both Ashdown and Deighton have NCAA Zone cuts in both the one-meter and three-meter this season.
IN THE WATER
A pair of seniors on the men's team took home two wins each. Brendan Barry swept both backstroke events, winning the 100 with a time of 51.77 and the 200 with a time of 1:49.86. Jonathan Drewes won the 100 breast and 100 free with times of 58.07 and 46.29.
Radu Duican also had a pair of wins in the meet, leading off TCU's 200 medley relay win (1:35.16) and winning the 200 free (1:43.16).
The women's team split the double-dual meet and had some strong individual performances. Senior Micaela Roemer won the 100 fly with a time of 57.23 and was a part of both TCU relays that each finished second. Sally Clough produced a first-place time of 1:54.09 in the 200 free, while fellow sophomore Lauren Halliburton won the 200 breast in 2:22.35. Freshman Megan Morris finished first in the 200 fly with a time of 2:06.82.

The Horned Frogs return to action in the new year when they take on West Virginia in the team's final Big 12-matchup of the season. The meet is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 12, in Morgantown, W.Va.
