FORT WORTH, Texas - After over 20 days away from home, the No. 22 TCU women's tennis team returned to the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center in Fort Worth on Wednesday night and scored a 5-2 victory over North Texas.

The Horned Frogs (7-4) got back to their winning ways after a three-match losing streak by gutting out two victories in doubles against the Mean Green (5-8) and then collecting four wins in singles action. Caroline Wegner and Donika Bashota were first on the board as the pair got their first win of the season with a dominant 6-0 performance on court two. The final win would take time, but Alexis Pereira and Aleksandra Zenovka picked up win No. 8 this season with a 6-4 win on court three.

Sofiko Kadzhaya continued her six-match winning streak by getting the win on court five in singles to put TCU up 2-0. Wegner followed with a straight-set win on court six to give the Frogs the 3-0 lead as three of the final four courts were headed into a decisive third set. North Texas scored its lone points of the match with wins at the top two spots before Bashota and Marie Norris were able to come back and win the final two sets on their courts to give TCU the overall match victory.
