MacLean Leads Frogs in Oregon

NORTH PLAINS, Ore. – Junior Turner MacLean shot a career-best 3-under 68 and will begin the final round of the Nike Collegiate Invitational tied for ninth place.
The Fort Worth native's 68 is his second time to shoot sub-70. MacLean shot 2-under 69 in the first round on Sunday. At 5-under 137, MacLean is tied for ninth.
Two other Horned Frogs shot under 70 on Monday. Juniors Stefano Mazzoli (Italy) and Pierre Mazier (France) each shot 3-under 68. Both players helped their score with an eagle. Mazzoli's came on the par 5 No. 18 hole and Mazier's was on the par 5 No. 4. Mazzoli is tied for 21st place at 5-under 137. Mazier is tied for 54th at 4-over 146.
Junior Triston Fisher (Southlake) is tied for 48th at 3-over 145.
Junior Hayden Springer (Trophy Club) had six birdies in the second round, five in the front nine and shot 1-over 72. He is tied for 60th at 6-over 148.
Brandon Wu of Stanford leads the talented field at 11-under 131.
As a team, TCU shot 6-under 562 and is tied with Clemson for seventh place. In the 15-team field, four were national semifinalists from last season's NCAA championships. Stanford (-21) leads the tournament.
The final round at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club will begin at 10 a.m. CT. TCU will be paired with Clemson and Texas.

- Springer's par 3 average of 2.70 (-3) is tied for the third-best.
