
Rifle Ends Fall Season With Victory

The win concludes TCU's fall campaign with a perfect 9-0 record. The Horned Frogs have surpassed the 4,700 plateau in all but one match this year. They have fired eight of the top-10 marks in program history. The 4,726 shot in the match at Army ranks second all-time in program history and third all-time in the NCAA record book.
Garner's 593 smallbore score helped lead the Frogs to a team score of 2,349, the second-best mark in program history. TCU fired the top five scores in the discipline. Casey Lutz turned in a second place finish after shooting a 586. She has fired a 581 or better in all nine matches this season. Ariana Grabowski and Mindy Miles were right behind Lutz with identical scores of 585.
Similarly, the Horned Frogs boasted the top five marks in air rifle en route to shooting a team score of 2,377, which is tied for fourth-best in program history. Miles turned in a score of 598 to lead all shooters. Sally Li finished second after shooting a 594. It's the fifth time this season, Li has shot a 594 or better. Lutz contributed a 593, while Garner posted a 592.
Garner's aggregate score of 1,185 was a personal best as was Lutz's 1,179 and Barrett Ray's 1,171 (579 smallbore; 592 air rifle). Miles finished second overall with an aggregate mark of 1,183.
TCU returns to the range on Jan. 21 when it hosts Ohio State and the Coast Guard in a triangular meet at the TCU Rifle Range.
