Doubles Team Set for New York

FORT WORTH, Texas -- TCU women's tennis juniors Seda Arantekin and Caroline Wegner will begin competition at the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y., on Thursday afternoon.
The duo, who earned an at-large bid to the championships, have a 7-1 record so far this fall and won the OU Invite and advanced to the semifinals of the USTA/ITA Texas Regional Championships. The pair also becomes the first women's participants from TCU since 2011 and the seventh doubles team in program history to make the indoor championships.
The 20-team doubles bracket has Arantekin and Wegner facing off against tournament host Columbia's pair of Rima Asatrian and Alexandra Solovyev who earned a wild card entry into the tournament. The two teams will face-off at Noon, CDT, in New York with the winner moving into the Round of 16 to face the No. 4 seed of Hayley Carter and Whitney Kay of North Carolina.
