TCU head coach Raegan Pebley
Opening Statement...
"It was a physical game the entire game. That's how OU plays and I feel we're pretty physical and up-tempo. In the end, their three-point shot we didn't defend that well enough throughout the game. They were definitely comfortable in the post. We got better defending that in the second half and forced more turnovers as well as taking away those post looks. We just didn't open up the game defending the three point line as well as we should have to make them uncomfortable in our gym."
On post defense...
"(Kaylon Williams) is a very good post player. But she also has good shooters around her, and that makes her even better. I felt that our rotation was really delayed. As we got better at (the rotations) in the second half we slowed down the pace a bit and she got more points off of offensive rebounds and foul shots, instead of a drop-step touch and score. In the first half that is what she was able to do was get a touch and score because our rotation was pretty late."
Oklahoma head coach Sherri Coale
On post play...
"That requires patience from everyone against the pressure. It's one thing to have somebody down there that has an advantage but getting to her is another thing entirely. A share of the credit goes to the guards who composed enough to get it to the post players who were able to do what they did today."
On TCU's full-court press...
"That is TCU's weapon. They do it really well. (Coach) Reagan has them playing so hard and they use their athleticism to wear you down with relentless pressure. It can take a mental toll as well as a physical toll, especially in this environment. The whole crowd is loud and packed on top of you so I am really proud of our mental toughness today."
